How is a 45 profile too big?

On a corsa b I'd run 195/50x15 for grip.

16" is too big, you need some give in the tyre wall for it to be grippy, if it's a 40 profile it will be too rigid and spit you off on cornering.

I'm not talking 100% of the time here, I'm talking in general terms,

I've done umpteen courses on tyre performance, but most people know better after reading a review on pistonheads.

Id want the widest and softest of compounds available, id take a larger wheel if it was wider. Smaller doesnt automatically = better grip.

Whats the widest tyre you can put on a B? 205?

Not trying to be a dick but we do know the "40-45" is a percentage of the tyre width and not a measurement right?

40 profile looks shit on a 285....

It depends what width you're running, 40's would be alright on a 205 on a b, 40 on a 195 is like a rubber band & very stiff.

Lets be honest - a b doesnt have a great deal of handling prowess or comfort to jeopardise regardless so it may aswell look good

Gloucester isn't exactly a tyre hotspot, only one garage I rang up could supply them that day. If you can wait then places just order them.
