This pretty much! Although I own it so don't expect her to pay anything!

Although I'm single I'm in the same situation as you two, it's solely mine so wouldn't want anyone else to pay part of my mortgage really!

My girlfriend lives with me (house is mine) but she wouldn't be comfortable not contributing something to running the place
She pays a bit into the account to cover most of the utilities.

Which now means she's entitled to some of it (profit from original purchase price IIRC) if you split up!

We pay 50/50 of the mortgage. I pay most of the other stuff.
Not bothered tbh. It was her idea to get a house. I was happy in my parent's house

Surely she's only entitled to any of the actual property is she contributes to the mortgage.
If she contributes to utilities (gas/electric etc) then I don't see how she is entitled to any of the property? The gas/electric will be more for 2 people anyway so it's not unreasonable that she pays towards those?

Well either way, I'm not paying for everything
We don't have any contract or anything but we both know who pays for what!

iirc any money that gets transferred from a partner that lives with you over a certain amount of years means they do have financial rights to the house.

TBH no one knows what will happen in the future but you can't live your life worrying about what could happen if you split up, that type of stuff will drive a wedge IMO.
Just go with the flow and don't worry about it.

My brothers ex tried to get part of his house having paid towards bills but not mortgage. Wasn't entertained by solicitors in their case.

Not that bad actually. Money must be disappearing elsewhere
Don't ever plead poverty again you're doing better than me
Proper skint this month. No idea why. The Mrs' spending habits I guess
And by Net I meant mine and Lily's. I'd be bolloxed if we split.

I wonder if you could get the missus to sign a lodger agreement so they can't claim financial interest in your property. Seriously
But anyway, I live alone and mine's 600 and ~20%.

I took "household income" to mean net as that's what ive got to work with to pay the mortgage, but if someone said "salary" I'd say the gross.

Why would you ever use net? You don't actually see that money
