Went and got my mk1 mx5 out of storage today and went for a nice random drive , about 90 miles. Had about 3 other mx5 drivers give me a wave.

I don't normally get it in my impreza but I have had a few

Most mk1 mx5s give a wave, mk2s less so and mk3s you get even fewer. With mk1s in particular it seems like quite a big thing.

Had a few in the transporter, I find it a bit awkward

Got it from other Impreza drivers the one time I've driven one. My dad gets it all the time when driving his Mk2 Mazda Mx5 and I keep having some dude in a yellow Mk1 Cupra (I too have a yellow Mk1 Cupra) waving at me. Abit silly really, I'm not much of a waver.

Mike they're just waving to warn you of the on coming corner they've seen how you drive...

When I had the 350 they tended to flash but not had it in any other car.

Used to get it all the time in the Impreza. Gave a lad I used to work with a lift home once and when I waved at another he said "oh my god I can't believe you just did that" and made sure everyone at work knew the next day!

I occasionally get old guys in Volvos glance over when I'm in the S80 as if to say we're the same you and me

I found boy racers used to give me a glance in the Impreza too for the same reasons

I had a leaf green corsa b and one time spoken to some woman who also had the same one it was rather humorous. Also another woman who had a leaf green used to wave at me.
