As its standard it's very reliable. Fits my large dog in no probs and I have completed loads of tip trips in it as I'm renovating my house
Although it's practical it still does 0-60 in under 6 seconds
Do you do 0-60 sprints on the dump runs?
Yea, even take timing gear to see how the extra weight affects acceleration

bit older and auto but humungous inside, and plenty of toys, seem to hold the value well too

Honestly go cheap if you are doing up a house. You will fuck the interior up and will want something you don't care about.
I must have had the car like this about 20 times

Saab 95 or 93 Aero - drink fuel (7/8mpg) if you hoof it everywhere, otherwise mid 20's is doable on a run, but pretty decent interior, spacious (good boot space) and not too bad to drive.
Get a manual though as the auto box is very sluggish and the paddle-shift is a gimmick (takes a few seconds between selecting a change and the auto box actually doing it).

A manual 9-3 aero will easily do mid 30s on a run and around town mid 20s. They aren't too bad on fuel.

7-8mpg? Really? Somehow I doubt that.
Mine says it does 5mpg if I reset it and then immediately drive like a man possessed, but when you lift off it soon goes up.
That doesn't mean it does 5mpg though

The trip computers on the few Aero's in the family must be wrong then....

Because you didn't actually bother to read what i wrote Ben, if you did you would have noticed the 'if' and 'hoofing'. No where did i mention the word 'average'. But thanks Ben for your valuable input

So for the brief few seconds you are accelerating in low gears, they get 7mpg? Same as any turbo petrol car then...
Still doesn't mean they do 7mpg though.
It's just a pointless fact. Average fuel consumption in the mid 20's, as you said, is much more truthful.

My old mans old 9-3 Aero must have been a right gem as it never done single figure mpg. He used it mostly for short trip driving and never reported it being bad on fuel.

More like five minutes of ragging the life out of it on twisty B roads.

Over that period (MPG isn't a fixed distance) it's doing 7/8MPG.

Bit like you like you getting your panties in a twist in this thread Still confused why you're so bothered by this?

Everything i've mentioned is true

Smaller engined (unless he's got the V6/2.8) and lighter (by about 200 odd kilos) than 95 Aero's.
But getting back on track, Aero's aren't particularly cheap to run but they're good for what they are.

Yeah, I've seen quite a few aeros online now, went to see 2 yesterday.
One was desired as mint bar a small dent a scuff on the boot lid. Got there and ever panel was mullered, and the drivers seat had a cut around 6 inches long in it. Didn't even start it, just said sorry mate.
His comeback to me, was it wasn't going to be as clean as my posing car! (EP3). Good sales tactic!
The second car just had no spec and was too much money. So I've emailed about this one to make sure it's still there.

Awesome choice, that was £2k? Hell of a car for that.
Hate going to see "mint" cars that are fucking sheds. People need shooting for that. Went to look at a mint low mile E46 for the old man and the whole car was mullered and inside smelt like the inside of a jock strap. Ducking jebs. Was worth 50% of what he was asking.
Is the SAAB quick? Work with a guy who has one. He loves it!
