With her only doing 4k a year I'd get something big and safe like a Volvo XC90.

Looked at the Corsa but the boot is to small.

Found a 63 plate Ibiza Estate with 3k on the clock for 7k. Fits the bill!

It's within budget and the boot is massive.

Part 2 is parting with the cash

Still looking at options. As with most cars, this will be worth fuck all when we come to get rid.

I think we are looking at Renault next weekend.

She wants to look at the Megan.

I've told her just to got and get the Ibiza. I'm fed up of looking at cars now. I need to be earning money rather than spending weeks shopping around to go back and buy the first thing we looked at.

She's doing my head in John!

We visited Arnold Clarke earlier but she wanted to get back to the baby. 5 more minutes and we could
have had a good look around a Megan. Now we have to go back...

If i buy something she doesn't like she will want to trade that in within 6 months.

The thinking mans VAG

Interior won't be as refined but will share a lot of parts with the Polo and Fabia. Just not the badges.

Why does it have to be a new car?
05 plate mondeo- it's a beast for space, great in fuel and cheap as chips.

People are concerned what their neighbours think, and an old banger like an 05 plate means you aren't doing that well in life imho

If you have a van as your main vehicle people think you are a handy man or manual worker

Didn't you buy a Petrol 307 or something to do loads of miles in?

Based on that, I'd say you'll end up getting an MX5

I'm a bit of a snob Gaz, i wouldn't want to get shut of a 60 plate 207 and replace it with something cheaper. I also don't want to sit on the 207 that has 3k sat in it.

Or it could mean you are sensible with your money and have a tidy 05 plate car and cash in the bank.

As a lot of you know, i want a Kuga. It's not flash, does decent MPG and i'm after something i can tow with.

Because i'm tight, i'm waiting until i can pick up one up with decent miles on the clock for less than 10k - basically a bit more than Focus money.

Therefore, i'm keeping the Focus which will be used mostly for work.

Bought the mrs a 61 plate Astra Estate 1.7 CDTI SRI with 60k on the clock. Needs discs and pads but apart from that is spot on.

Was after a petrol but at 6k, plus she likes the car, it's a decent deal.

Aren't doing well in life... - Define "well" for me...?

As thats your opinion, it made me smile anyway. Family life changes priorities and having a brand new (most likely financed) motor on the drive way isn't the top of some people's lists.
