Yeah, apparently so. It's a bit of a trek from Nic, but thought I'd whack it on here anyway (it's closer than Leicester)!
All the local lads rave about them.

You yourself should know ADE have THE most generous rollers in the world.
Payne made about 40hp and 80ftlb of torque more on it.
Luke's ed30 made another 100odd bhp and another 150ftlb on it.
Plus as Jack said he probably wouldn't of let them run it if he saw how they strap them down/get them into the rollers

You clearly have no experience with them then.
There hated in the mini world for good reason. Terrible maps with dangerous AFR and ignition timings. Plus terrible customer services.

They are great and have fantastic reviews and reputation....
Its a proper custom map, not a generic file.
R tech are the best out there for vag stuff hands down. Nikki knows more then anyone about them.
If you want a proper map. Rtech or as Ben said unicorn developments are the only people you should be using for the vag stuff.

Dunno. But r tech and unicorn seem to be at the very top of the list of you ask anyone into vags. So I'd stick with them?

Did R tec used to do renaults? Like 5 gt turbos back in the day? Genuinely never heard of unicorn, and really never going to use a company with that name.

No, that's K-Tec Racing - they are still going, and are local to me in Dorset.

The other Renault 5 lot were GT Tuning, they are still going as well but mostly do BMW Minis now, they are less than 5 miles from K-Tec too.

Ha ADE don't have flattering rollers at all! Mines always down on power by a good 30hp!

How long do they take to do these "custom maps"? I assume they need the car for pretty much a day to build the map from scratch?
Probably just a flashed map that they pretend to tweak imho.

It's a very elitest business IMO.
No matter where you go, somebody will either be jealous and say they over read.
Or slag them off for being shit

People only ever recommend the places that give wacky high readings, or as its know "happy customer numbers" the low reading places are probably the accurate ones. Nobody likes accuracy. Magic Numbers for Facebook likes for the win. Share, blue thumbs.

Clearly you don't know rtech then.
Nicki maps a car for drivability not big numbers. Infact a lot of his are dialed back to make them drivable with nice linear torque curves so you don't get one dump of big power and spin the wheels through every gear
And yer he has the car for a good few hours mapping them. Not a quick job.

Nah I've seen a few be down on power and some up on what they should have, I remember a supposed high powered remapped c63 amg was no where near what it was claimed to be, I trust them rollers

I recommend r tech because they mapped my golf to stage two - i had issues with limp mode which turned out to be nothing to do with them, i had too strong a spring in my recirc which was causing it to not open correctly
Nick diagnosed over the phone, and sent me a new spring for free
He also recomended a smoke test a few months later when it started limping again, low and behold i had a split pipe to IC - had no issues after this. Car was really fast for what it was.
He is a top top guy, my golf was there for a few hours when they mapped it. With two dyno runs, yes they will use a base map they have created, they then tweek it to suit your car and mods

it's just when the people that are recommending the company on here are clueless morons, puts doubts in my mind tbh.
