don't worry, i thought i'd witten mine off (due to wet roads and a BMW driver). i hit a fence and put a nice V shape in the front, ripped off the arms that link the suspension to the front cross member etc etc.
Needed new bonnet, rad, cross members, two wings, mirrors and headlamps. It was over a grands worth of damage, but my car's fine now. Damage generally looks worse than it is. Hope this helps mate...

No i don't usually drive like a twat, but today i did, and i'm now facing the consequences.
Also - There is hardly and bodywork damage that i can tell, apart from the rear bumper, but there is LOTS of damage to the suspension / chassis
Also does anyone know why the engine would run funny / lumpy / rev itself after this happened?

the chassis can usually be sorted on a jig. the engine mite be running funny cos c's are drive by wire, so maybe an electrical problem cos of impact
maybe check fuses or summin?

Nah let Vauxhall do all that and let the insurance company pay.
I was just wondering if maybe i'd damaged anthing engine-related

I cant believe it ! That's such bad luck m8, very sorry to hear it.
Seems so surreal, especially on same day as http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=68396 was posted .
Hope you get what you want, i.e. insurance wise

sorry to hear about m8.
roads were terrible today, i was driving back from northampton to london on the M1 and the spray was nasty.
when got home i found a Ford Focus on its roof. Pigs had blocked off the road.
I hate driving in the wet.

Both left wheels are pushed underneath the car, the front one has been pushed back into the bodywork too, so the car won't move at all. The rear bumper and arch have come loose, the engine runs lumpy and the steering has snapped from the front left wheel, it doesn't turn with the steering wheel at all.
i did this a few months back on black ice and a roundabout.
1grand of repairs later and im still kicking wolfrace up the arse about my replacement wheels!!!!
sorry to hear about it mate... good luck sorting it.

Lack of steering might be the lower arm that is snapped (this happened in my old Corsa when some penis in a Sierra decided to drive into the side of my car!), from what you described it doesn't sound like a write-off, as I had worse damage done to mine, it was only worth £3k at the time, the bill also came to about £3k but they still repaired it.
You got any pics of it?

Maybe not, cos the AA are unable to collect my car due to the damage to it. They reckon in order to get it on their truck the whole underneath of the car is going to fall off

well surely they got it there in the first place without
"the whole underneath of the car falling off"
So they must be able to move it again!

At a Vauxhall dealership that isn't registered with my insurance company, so its gonna take about 3 days for the "engineer" to give the go ahead.
