argh argh. dunno wot to do, it just seems the 1.7 has more advantages. cost aint a issue btw. the free insurance is tho. the disel is more toquey, is it faster on motorway? as i do motorway work?

dunno mate but 1.2 16v are alrite to say what engine size it is, but the fuel goes down pretty quick, especially at motorway speeds

Remember also that the Deisel costs £700 more, so to save this on fuel you have to do over 25k a year, (My Dad worked it out, he's a driving instructor, he's got the 1.7Dti) I've driven it too, its not bad but i prefer my petrol, which dont sound like a hair drier due to my Exhaust and BFO

The bloke at vauxhall worked it out on calculator and with only doing 12 a year id save 500 quid? What do you prefer about the petrol unit?

modern diesels don't smell !!
You can't see anything come out of the exhaust, nor can you smell anything.
And if you could smell it, it wouldn't smell any worse than the fumes out of a petrol car
& not even my sister's 1995 corsa 1.5TD smells !

My Dads 6 month old 1.7Dti Sxi smells like sh|t and gtes loads of black smoke if u accelerate hard

Fair enough I've never seen the back of one when it's been accelerating hard .
It certainly doesn't smell though ! - not one incy bit .
