yup claire can't be an average girl, opting a coupla subs, speakers and amps in the boot over room for shopping bags but that's a good thing.
I've never seen anyone put subs on one side and speakers on the other...very unique and I bet it still sounds awsome.
good job.

It was a bit of a rush job to be honest, getting the install nearly finish for the nationals. Didnt get the time to set up the gains and frequency on the amps to accomodate for the new set up. the perspex was 'a right tw@t' to get in and that needs looking into, so I darent take it out to set up the system before the show. Didnt get the car back till Sat morn and set off Sat aft. I'd rather have it looking good for the show and not run it flat out than go with the perspex out. Going back next week for the finishing touches and setting up.
Didnt sound bad tho without it. I dont really think that it,ll make that much difference where the speakers are in such a confined space as a boot. Will know when I'm back off me hol.
Wont have a prob selling the Vega's, you're right, and it'll go half way to two new Rockford ones. Definately decided to do that
Tyre weld is like a foam in a can and you use it in your tyres if you get a flat. It seals the hole and makes the car drivable to a point where you can get a new tyre fitted. Not a permanent solution, but a good enough one.
There are some sports cars that come with it as standrd cause they have no spare wheel.
Cheers for the comments guys. I'm happy with the look. Always gotta go for that twist on the standard. Thats why the speakers are where they are. And I'm sure I'll be happy with the sound quality once its set up right.
Might even enter a sound off, especially with the front pods being as they are.

To get to the lights, I'll have to take one of the speakers out. Not that much of a job really. The one behind the sub tho is a bit trickier. Cause it needs to be a sealed unit, a piece of the MDF was cut out behind the bottom sub and sealed back in place. So to change a bulb there I have to take out the sub, cut round the sealant, pull out the MDF, change the bulb, replace the MDF and seal back round it
Got to get the gains set right yet to hear the full quality so I dont know rightly myself yet how it compares.
The wheels are from perfomancealloys.com. They were origonally in black titanium finish (like a dark silver) but I had them re furbed at MSM. Now they are a dark grey, almost black, but in the sun you can see a silver fleck
As for the suspension, There is a cut out at the back that's been covered so I can get to that too.
Just goes to show how much planing is needed to do an install. There's so much to take into consideration
Used three sheets of fibre glass per side I think, maybe four. Cut down on the weight that way. My door pods are quite heavy with using the paste. Wish I'd known about the sheets when I did them No way I'm changing them now tho!!
Cheers for the compliments. At least I know I'm still on the right track when it comes to modifying

Only place I knew of that sold fibre glass sheets was Halfords. You didnt get much to a pack tho. Just for small jobs really. I asked at the bodyshop I go to and they sorted me out with it. Try asking at any bodyshop you know of, who supplies them with the fibre glass and you should find out from them. They might even sell you some. If you were gonna do your door pods like I've done mine then you wouldnt need many sheets. If the majority of the mould is built up with mesh, the sheets would fill and round it off. Then there's the filler on top of that. Maybe you'd get enough from Halfords for that. Depends how much shaping you'll be doing really.
I'd suggest buying a pack and lying the sheets over where you're gonna be glassing. Use at least two layers and see how far they go.
You'll figure out how many times you'd need to go back then. If you think you're gonna need alot more than you get to a pack then it'd probably work out a bit cheaper from a bodyshop/supplier.
The resin doesnt go very far either so look at pricing that up too
Hope that helps
