I don't have remote start, but i always leave my car in gear in case the handbrake fails, then my car will go nowhere

so wot im blonde (for ur info i aint got roots super si) it was my bf who pressed to engine turn on button insted of the unloch it went head first in2 my step dads m3 pushin it into the back of the garage if that werent bad it knocked a load of metal steff on2 his boot 2k's of damage

my mum said it was her fault and claimin on insurance i just think its stupid there was no safety device on the start up to prevent this

it does say in the manual don't leave in gear they can't stop u from having it in gear

but some alarms like the toad one have a feature from preventin it for heaven sake car bleep wen u leave head lights on u wud think some bright spark would of invented something to do with leavin it in gear

get a toad. i've had the intelli start 4 a couple of yrs and haven't had this happen. jus gotta b careful as irritating as it is

on the toad one, you have to have the engine running, press the button to turn it of then get out and lock the car.

the to start the engine you just press the button again.

also if you open a door before starting the engine it wont start by pressing the button, cus you might of been able to knock it in gear.

dunno if that made sense but thats how it works.

no but they probably thought most pepole take it out of gear when you park up.

or not try to start it in gear.

and you meant to park with your wheels angled in such a way so if the hanbrake fails itll swing the front tyred onto the kerb next to it and it wont got anywhere.

each to thier own i put mine on lighly when i know the grond is flat say in the garage and at work
and adam youve loadsa cash so if the reas seize you should be able to do them yourself.
