Yes but the thing is with my current insurance is that I am with Tesco, I have no points or convictions......clean licence. I have been involved in one accident but I was hit in the rear so I wasn't at fault and the claim has been dealt with so i retain my 1 year NCB.
After I got my insurance I found out about Liverpool Victoria and they would have covered me for £1100 on my 1.2 8V with all mods declared but it was too late to move without loosing money. I am paying that amount because my mods are declared with Tesco and they are shite for mods.
I am sure I could get insured, and for less than £2k I just need to find the place to do it.

Why do you love Tesco?? And how can you?? They are daft, depending who you talk to depends on how much they up your premium when you declare mods. They are shite.
Kev......try searching for "HIC Insurance" through google and it will give you the number.

Thats lucky for you tim matey, when I rung them they told me they refuse to insure no standard cars, but then I mentioned about a percentage power increase, going from a 1.2 8V at 45BHP to a 2.0 16V at 156BHP takes me over a 100% increase so they refused to do it, now if I were to buy a 1.6 16V Sport/GSi and then do the engine conversion they would cover me, or put a 1.6 16V engine in mine and then put the 2.0 16V in but thats a complete waste of money..........told you tesco are dumb.
