If i remeber correctly there just slotted on, as the wires have round metal hooks on the end, and theres just plastic rods that they slip over to hold them in place. not difficult to remove them
[P.S, Rob, did you get my e-mail on the LED's?]

Email? I got u2u, just gonna reply now.
I just lifted the metal loop over the plastic with my fingers, the plastic clip just snaps out of place if you push it a bit.

If you don't want to rub them down you could use a filler primer. Personally I hate the stuff though.

Its a 45k word document, not very big. If your stuck with the centre knob, I guess you mean you want to remove it?
Pull the knob out so its in the on position. Look in the base of the knob, you will see a small hole. Push a small screwdriver or similar into this hole while at the same time pulling on the knob. The screwdriver will release a clip to enable the knob to come off.
