R5 GTT's also win my special award for making me crap myself, not only are they fast as fook, but they have the build quality of a stoned badger and feel as though the car will rattle to bits at any moment!!!!

my engine still has the 1.4 block crank and everything else.
i bought the 1.6 block, crank and pistons to add at a later date but never done it
the 135 bhp is with the 1.4 block
the spec of the engine at the moment is,
· 1.4 16 valve
· Blitz Induction cone
· Custom Powerflow Full system inc. 2 1/4” straight thru’ bore splitting into 2 oval tailpipes
· SBD performance manifold
· 264 degree shrieck cams
· Uprated valve springs and caps
· Pocketed pistons
· Mantzel powerbox
· Omex ecu
· 7500 rev limit
· 135 bhp
· 107 lb/ft torque

is it much work involved to use the 1.6 block, crank etc..
or just a straight swap?
Will it increase power by much?

you'd need to get the pistons pocketed or buy some new forged pistons with them already pocketed.
if you changed the block it wont be a 1.4 anymore would be a 1.6
the head on the 1.4 and 1.6 are identicle.
even the blocks are apart from the fact one is bored to a 1.4 and the other a 1.6
the reason i never got round to doing it was, i couldnt find out from anyone if the gsi and sport blocks were the same.

don;t see the point int he 1.4 on TB's while Andy's engine is good, strong and the car is quick it's not an every day car. and with the amount of cash you would spend on the 1.4 is it really worth it hp per £

i was thinking of the handling and weight over the 2.0ltr
i don't wish for a really high top speed, more acceleration and handling...

yeah Adam i drove your 1.4 and it was quite the thing to need revs to pull away and i have driven LuckyB's old corsa and it wasn't really what i would class a run around where as your 2.0 litre is mostly plug and play very very very driveable and easily a run around
