This is very true. Theres only 1 reason i took the headlight out for the track action.
My engine runs slightly hot at 93-94degress. It should be runnign about 90degrees. Its cos of the bonnet extension air can only get to part of the rad. Now seeing as i was going on track and wanted to keep the engine as cool as possible, i thought i'd take the headlight out to aid the cooling. And it worked a treat  I ran the car changing abt about 6600rpm (7k limit) only cooling off to allow the cars ahead to give me some distance, and when i had an oil surge (commen 2.0litre prob, ask adam k ) and it chucked out loadsa smoke, i cooled off for 1/2 lap, then got back on the pace
Its simply cos i was knackard that i couldn't be arsed to put the headlight back in.
Its not an offical time, i was just doing it for a bit of fun

Ross, a standard GT done 0-60 in 7.65, then another ran on 17's and got 8.34
I believe the timing gear was in accurate though.

top gear tested the GT at 7.6s to 60mph. however my mods would not really increase that by much unless I just used second gear to get to 60
