That could be the reason, but I feel you are talking about yourself.

I did a similar thing to you OJC.
I had a lovely Vauxhall Nova 1.4 SRi in Black with 15" alloys. Loved it as it was my first car.
I sold that and brought a Ford Escort 1.6 16V Zetec 3dr. Wanted something newer and comfy and this was it. Well it seemed it at the time.
Ended up selling that to get what I have been after since being at school!
Now I am Happy with my Vauxhall Corsa Sport 1.4 16V
I have Vauxhalls in my blood. Next car will be a Astra Turbo when I'm in my 20s.

Have considered Pug 106 GTIs, but then I think of the feeling of when I got back in a Vauxhall after driving a Ford!

A late Nova GSi with a black dash in either silk violet, metalic grey, or black.
Or even a Nova GSi on an L-plate in bright silver, I would wank all day if I got hold of one of these.
i think u realy are confused bout what u want, u asked why the hell you bought a dark colour wen u dont like dark colours with the punto and now u post n sayy u wouldnt mind a black nova??? they dont come much darker than black ??

Its got GSi everything, windows, interior, the lot.
Only thing I am missing is the dash.
At least I now have my dream car and followed it through to the end.

Superb thread, at least in 2003 when I spoke about wanting a Nova I went and done what I wanted to do, got it on the front cover of a magazine.
I wonder who is still hosting the pics though

If you had the choice would you take you B back over the new D?

Different time and different needs now though.
I'd love to drive my Corsa B again just to see what it was like, it used to handle so well with the Koni adjustables and the 195 tyres but it was rock hard where as the Corsa D handles even better and is standard and isn't rock hard, the only downside is that it's a big old car, the Corsa B is small and agile and it feels like that, the D feels bigger.
All in all, if I could rewind to 2002 when I sold it I would have kept it, removed the kit, fit all Steinmetz stuff and 6 months later Lee Mitchell done his first engine conversion and instead of buying a GSi Lee could have fit a 1.6 16v to W899 NJB.
