Those rear door handles ...

I changed my rear central locking solenoids this weekend. I couldnt take the locking mech out totally cos it wrapped around the window guide. I managed to get to the solenoid screws with it in though, so all was ok.

Its the window guide thats the problem. theres one screw to take it out lower down thru a hole in the metal, but the other is behind the rubber seal - you have to lower the window to get to it, take the rubber seal off too. then, once out, you have to pull the rubber seal up, and then take the window guide out to get to teh rear door handle protector (metal cover)'s far bolt. the window only comes down half way cos of the shallow doors, the rubber and guide are a pain in the ass to manilulate out, the glass it going everywhere, the rubber looks like your gonna pull it off, swearing like crazy, about an hour later, pull the guide out, unbolt the cover, then ping the handle out from inside dead easy.

And if you thought that was hard - just you wait to put it back on!!!

Make sure you get up 1st thing as its getting dark at about 6pm now.

Im never going in my rear doors again - so glad the solenoid screws were JUST visible to be unscrewed - was so worried about doing the above again.

Hope this hasn't put you off though!!

oh btw, Haynes says "and gently remove window guide" or something - the guy's holding it with two fingers!

Kris - Air Dam looks wicked Keep up the good work!
