Shocks and Springs will sort it out

Thats praise coming from him!!

They r very nice, I think I wud get a full suspension tweak to firm it up a bit.

Although I think if I went for an SRI i'd get the 1.7 CDTi

No joke, its slower to 60. But check out the Torque 240 NM

Thats only 10NM less than the astra and zafira GSi and VX Turbo!!!!

lol thanks guys. i got a test drive in one, but its only the 1.2 cos this is all they have. still can get a feel for the car! The other one i was looking at was the Clio, just the 1.6 though because insurance is to high on the 172.

Bear in mind there will be ALOT of difference between the handling, throttle response, torque etc..

Insurance on a 1.8 SRi is quite low actually, its only group 10 or something

no they won't

you'd need coilovers and front and rear strut braces to be able to touch the torsion bar hatches on the corners

OVerall its not too bad. French 1600 16v engines are bloody good as standard for times on the cars, and although the 1.8is i think a bit gutless, its still not too bad + with low insurance. And its got rear discs as standard which is good.

Tuning on the 1.8 though is supposed to be in development i should imagine. I have heard of the 1.8 16v's being quite good for tuning (not hard, probably so restricted as standard )

Handling, well, no vauxhall handles great as standard but nothing a good suspension setup wouldn't sort out.

the vx220 is wasnt completely designed by vauxhall though, the chassis is the same as the lotus elises'

so VX can't really take all the credit for it

this is wrong. the chassis is not the same. it is a redesign. only about 20 parts of the vx220 are shared with the lotus
