Ah right, Im sorry I was only going by direct quotes from both Torres and Rafa. Im glad you know best though.
Did you invite them around for a cup of tea like? He more than doubled his money when he moved from Athletico to Liverpool. That is eee faact!! **Fat Spanish Waiter Accent**
Can you back this up? Please do so.
Whilst you're checking, please look for an interview Rafa gave on 4th July 2007.
Been chatting about this today to a couple of mates whoa re liverpool fans and they seemed to think that rafa meant he turned down a higher wage at other clubs to play for liverpool, not took a wage cut from what he was on at Atletico
Seemed to think he was only on 40-50k a week at Atletico?

Nah, I'll try to find the interview with Torres where he confirms he took a pay cut to join us. He was on £100k+ at Athletico, the contract he signed for us (he has since signed a much better one) was for £90k.

Jiz, what do you know about this guy?
Great prospect, but it's wether or not he settles if they buy him, the tricks this guy can do in a game is phenomenal, R80 would be proud.

I honestly cannot see how they could pay him 100+k a week, i wouldn't have thought they had the finances to do so. But i can't dispute it if it's true, just hard to believe

We have a few Brazilians who will help, IIRC Anderson came from Gremio via porto so he may know him? And what better to help you settle in than with that nutter

Torres was on 90k a week at AM? I know Maxi and Perea were the highest earners at A Madrid when Torres was in the last season, so he could have been third highest earner maximum.
I wouldn't be surprised if OneMan Utd were to shock everyone and land Aguero rather than pay for Tevez or buy Benzema.

Dont ask me how, I have zero idea of their finances, but they managed to keep hold of him for a few seasons when clubs were chasing him.
They cant be that poor, they spent 20m EURO each on Forlan, Aguero and Simao.

I've been really impressed by aguero this seaosn in the CL, but my only worry is his size, he may get muscled out of the game over here. Another reason i think Villa would suffer.
Which is one thing that was never a problem with torres, because he's strong when he needs to be. Benzema is also a powerful striker who would improve playing at united imo

I watch alot of Spanish football strick, Aguero is a strong little so and so, he'd be ok over here, he remind me of Tevez in everything he does, but with a touch more class to finishing.

Is he an out and out striker, or another forward who likes to drop and get the ball deeper?

Bit more central actually, Tevez is allover the place (because Fergie tells him to), he is a drop off forward but always can be found in the box when a cross comes in.

Cheers, we need someone who is a proven goalscorer, he has a better record than torres doesn't he in la liga?
But i would like to see him playing over here for a season before i made my mind up on him

Very true, forlan was a gamble that didn't come off, clear talent just not at all suited to the PL, imo similar to the situation with Veron. Fantastic player, just not in the PL

Aguero does look like a quality striker, another who'd i'd be quite happy to see in the premiership

Think Fergie will invoke Rossi's buy back clause Strick? He's scoring for fun at the minute.

I think he's too small tbh, didn't seem to suit the prem at all when he was with us

You'll never see Rossi in a United shirt again.
I fought his corner for years to have people on here tell me he wasn't any good!

He's just after saying he wants to go back to England and Fergie brought the 2 year buy back clause up before the game against Villarreal earlier this season?

He may want to join a big club and not just one that is a feeder club for the Spanish giants though Hammer.
