We've let Ainsworth go out on loan an all today so I would presume Clark is pretty certain to get him, otherwise we'll have hardly any players.
Think we are down to 18 now

Why would he even go to either of those clubs when for that price loads of PL clubs would want him?

"110: GMT: Manchester City target Fernando Gaga is set to stay at Real Madrid. The Spanish side has been unable to secure midfield cover for the 23-year-old Argentina star who City wanted to sign on loan. "
Think the BBC has listened to a bit to much Lady Gaga

Why are spurs trying to sign Gudjohnsen? Do they not have enough forwards?

Crazy. Although I think he has signed, or at least 99.9 per cent done.

Apparently we have ended up paying 12M for Smalling. Originally offered 8M, then Arsenal came in at 10M. He better live up to all this being the next big thing tag that he has suddenly got

There was me being told we had no money to spend... yet splash 12mil out on a relatively unknown (although from everything you read promising) defender

You dont though, you'll sell Vidic in the summer and be £8-13m up on the deal.

£18m up. He is worth £30m all day long if Lescott is £22m or what ever City paid

You'll get £25m max I think.
The problem is finding someone willing to pay it, as its clear he wants to go and its clear the club need to sell him, so if the buys play hard ball then you wouldnt get the £30m+

I think both Barca and Madrid may, which is good for United as a bit of a bidding war.
Package deal for Rooney and Vidic, £100m all in?

But Barca have Puyol, Milito, Pique, Cacares (Juve loan) Marquez and others. The Madrid defence is quite pony.

Vidic is better than all those though, both Puyol and Marquez are ageing now (32 and 31)

Well winning 8 trophies in a year counts for a water tight defence which they have. Barca may bid but you know for a fact Madrid will.
