Also, some very tenuous links to Jovetic which would be the best signing we could make this summer but very very much doubt it'd happen

Apparently we're close to signing Douglas for about £5M but FC Twente what closer £12M after rejecting our improved offer of £8M for De Jong.

Problem with kids at United is, unless they are a Rooney/Ronaldo they aren't going to get a chance.
Not sure how Powell will do.

I am worried he'll rot in your reserves and it'll be another English talent destroyed.
But a scout who'd watched him a load of times reckons he'll take 6 months then he'll be ready for the prem, wo fingers crossed for him

seany says July 4, 2012 11:48am And now that you have AVB , you will soon be back to where you were just a few yrs ago , imagine if spurs were successful , you could talk then , and now bragging about an average midfielder who couldn't get into a mid table German team , you would think you signed Messi ! Shelvey is a better player , Aqua etc
Liverpool fan comment on SSN report regarding Sigurdsson to sign for Spurs imminently

Heard rumours already but again here's what I'v been told.
Hugo Lloris will have talks on thursdays and Arsenal are interested too. Are trying for Hulk but think he might cost too much. Moutinho will definitely be the target when Modric leaves. If Hamburg offer enough VDV will go, believe they can get a younger fitter replacement and lastly rumors of Oscar "internacional" but he's a kia joorabchian player and he already tried to get him in at QPR in jan just so european clubs would see him.

I'm assuming the replacement for VDV would be Sigurdsson in that number 10 role. I don't get the Liverpool fans comments either, I mean I doubt it's wages as Spurs are notorious for not paying alot as it is, maybe it's because we've finished higher than them in the past 3 years and look a much better prospect? No disrespect to Liverpool but they've spent loads of money on mediocre english players.

We are delighted to announce that we have completed the transfer of Gylfi Sigurdsson from Hoffenheim. Welcome to Spurs, Gylfi!
Happy with that, more goals from midfield, something we've been missing.

Spurs have been a better team than Liverpool for a few years now so why wouldn't he go to the better team? Deluded LFC fans can try and comfort themselves about it must have been the wages all they like.
