Good work. Hope it survives intact during any slight teething problems you have

okay...got it back at 3 this afternoon. have done 30 miles so far. have to check my money for the month and sort out what i have and havent got to spend...then start going places.

Sounds immense and although im only going up to 3500/4000rpm, its a cracking drive! Exhaust is blowing, but thats coz the guy who did it, did a crap job and bodged it!

ah well...its on the road!

yea...im just thinking of getting another standard manifold and trying again. thing is, this one had already been bodged in the past, which didnt help. If i went with a standard manifold, some flexi and then they worked it onto the straight pipe that is there, then that is likely to be more successful!

i think a section made onto the 2-1 pipe. then to a bit of flexi, then stright into the centre box, and step the bore up to match.

yea, it needs cutting further up, and then having some thought gone into it tbh, rather than just fucking bodging through bit by bit.

Dale - no its alot more than that. and there is quite a bit of hassle with other things too. also you need to find a good place local to you that can set them up.

well i just clocked 200miles yesterday after a drive to denbeigh, and all seems to be spot on!

i think the sump gasket that i did after the oil pump change is leaking, but the running in oil is really thin, so that wont help the situation.

exhaust is defo blowing but that will be sorted asap if the 8v head sells. just needs to be done for november 4th as thats when it gets set-up.

well, its more than a drip. but im guessing thats also down to the fact that the oil is like bloody water. i thought it was coolant at first...but no, it in infact oil, so once the GM stuff is in, im hoping it will slow down.

okay...new pics. Went out to Hoylake wit Adam-D and his bro Marc for some photos. We sneaked onto a field to get a decent spot....

Anyways...

And then when we got back...i took some more.

And i love this pic...just a shame the glare off my car ruins it a little...

so yea, thats what we did today. Sun came out for us after it had rained on and off all morning, so thats a bonus i suppose. Still...made me realise what i really want to do to it in the next 12 months! And is sooo annoying that im running this engine in, just wanna give it some stick...but i cant until i change the oil in the next week or so (when i can afford it).

well...little update, as it hasn't seen one for a while.

i'm coming up to 500mile, and having had its oil change onto the semi syn on wednesday, its running well. Only thing is the sump is PISSING oil out. when i put the gasket back on after phil changed the oil pump for me, i mustnt have put enough sealant on the surfaces, and it just hasnt sealed at all. Leaking everywhere!

So, im getting another gasket, and whilst im there im going to put the steel pan from the SEH on it, which is a little shallower and seemed to give a better surface when i changed that earlier in the year, plus it hasnt got the sensor thing on the front...and is pretty much new.

So, should be doing that this wed, and will obv change the oil again whilst im at it!

ill get photos and update at the time.

thanks guys!

it has yet to be set up, and once this sump problem is sorted, it should be fine and dandy yea. kept with a 323 e36 the other night - actually had to come off throttle out of corners to not go into back of him...and i wasnt even going over 5k!

So god knows what the potential output of it will be when its set-up proper and running bob on!

it was misfiring slightly when i passed you this morning mark. does it randomly...but like i say, it needs setting up!

right...its now up for sale. im after getting a Cav GSi or something like that. i just want something else tbh, i've lost interest in this, even though its quicker than ever and sounds immense.

But when that spark goes...well thats it isnt it...you just gotta go with it.
