fair enough, so in fact we're actually arguing over 5 or 6lbs/ft of torque? based on a standard engine? we are pathetic

Im pretty sure it is at the wheels. As lb/ft is a force, which will mean its the force that the wheels are putting on the rollers.

Heres a RR graph of my old pulsar and it dosnt have 2 outputs for wheels and engine like the BHP does...

But surely a car that makes its power at say 6500k is gonna be banging up the gears quicker than something revving to 8500k.And higher gears=more speed.

So a car revving to 9k will still be in 1st when the other car is nearly halfway thro 2nd and carrying the speed.

For comparison sake,a C20XE fitted with an F16 is gonna be quicker than the equivilent with an F20 as he is gonna be up the box quicker. But will lose out on top end if the boxes are like for like.

How much RPM does a honda have to play with when u go flat out in 1st then change into 2nd??

1st gear to 8500 32mph
2nd gear 702
3rd gear 100
4th gear 130
5th gear..........

looking good flybikeslee u will be very pleased with the new engine, i have the b18c engine in my teg and don't stop pulling, maybe due to mine having slightly more torque

BTW i would rather a teg anyday over a xe just wait for a corner

Yes i know that but after being in a DC2 for the 1st time the other night,i would prefer the way an XE delivers power over a VTEC.IMHO its just a noise.
Id rather be changing up the gears rather than revving for every last bit of power. And lets face it,VTEC dosnt make power till after 6krp.By then an XE is at full pulling power and ready to go into a higher gear with more pulling power on tap.

this is why they're no good round town mate. don't drop out of the vtec when spanking it and its always in the power isn't it?

can you explain why vtec is just noise please, look at this graph and tell me vtec is just noise

Just my personal opinion.Dont mean to offend any1.
When i was in my mates DC2 i heard VTEC kick in and felt the faintest of changes in the power. Not much but theyr was a tad theyr. And after looking at the speedo, its didnt climb any quicker.

Its maybe noticeable more on a graph, but certainly aint as much on the road.

P.S i aint slating DC2s in the slightest,i would abs love 1 and after being in mentioned DC2 i was very impressed at the way it handles.

But power wise,id rather have the XE delivery and powerband.

fair enough i do not know alot about the vtec power as it is and i dont know about all thes b16's and what not your talking about but

after being in lees car and seeing what the power out of that can do . i have to say there is a HUGE difference between normal and vtec.

sorry i know it was a bit of a random post there but i thought id get in on this convo
