I can't do it I don't know why :/ it depends if it's a lovely sunny day, quiet roads and no head wind I love it, the rest of time it feels like a chore.

I don't want to put you off, when it's good it's great but I think for me it's all about the bikes and bling, I love that side of it, I live right on the coast so headwinds can be quite strong and that takes some getting used to, but I'd love to get myself fit and do some races/sportives next year and I've every bit of respect for Jamie having watched his progress on strava. Thinking about getting myself back in the velodrome but we'll have to see!

I also live right on the coast I've even been planning routes to ride which all involve a bit of everything hills descents flat. But it all comes down to what to buy I'm not going to rush into it and it's going to be at least another month before I can even think of buying something

its a nightmare because my main cycling road twists and turns along the coast, pain in the ass unless its dead calm

Are you using cleats? If so you have them set up wrong!

most likely this, I used to get the same problem, had to give up riding for a fair while for my knee to sort itself out as well

Im averaging around 70-80 miles a week on the MTB. So will hopefully do more on the roadie. Whats the chances of me collapsing in a heap at the first set of traffic lights i come to...

I have only ever had a few close calls with unclipping my cleats. Never had a full on fall because of them though.

oh I've had two one trying to get going up a hill after having to stop for a rest right in the path of a car coming down the hill and the other getting on my bike outside my house

well that's a 7 speed and an 8 speed, I've just upgraded mine from 8 speed shimano 2300 to 10 speed shimano 105, so as I have a triple I now have 30 gears, tbh I only upgraded for the smoother shifting but the greater gear range does make a fair bit of difference in that I can now go a little bit faster all out.

Well the better group sets have 10, some more now. If you're going to be climbing lots get a triple.

I got a triple to help me with the hills but I hardly use the smallest chain ring now days. I reckon I could get away with a compact 50/34T now. Not ready for a 53/39T yet though

Picked it up from the Bury branch. Very impressed so far.
