Just as I said this the servers were down this afternoon. Gave me chance try the campaign though which is actually good.

at first you will play shit because you hear so much more around you and honestly start to get paranoid about people creeping up on you. Then once you get over that initial phase and learn to use the sound to help you play, you will become such a better player

why would you want to?

the TV does still play sound yes but the headset will play sound much clearer and will indicate direction of movement much better that the tv

"Sound-whoring" is such a vital tool when you want to improve. If you can get a step ahead of your enemy by hearing him you can then start your attack with much more order rather than panic.

honestly, a proper headset like turtle beach or Triton's will blow away a 2.1 sound system mate. keep that for movies and music

If you can borrow one from a friend to test it out, I promise you won't go back to standard speakers.

I remember not long ago everyone was moaning that everyone has a free Dead Silence perk ie. no one could hear the enemies footsteps DS or not.

I'm using a 5.1 in game mode and its fairly decent for hearing people walking up behind you extra still panic shoot though :-/ lol

I'd imagine a 5.1 system would be a massive help over the 2.1 systems but it all depends on how loud you can play with family members around.

I have a baby in the house so sometimes I have to have the tv virtually muted and my headset then comes into its own.
