Yeah mate, just bought a standard system and backbox, £50 delivered, can't go wrong really.

Going to drill my airbox and hopefully it should be nice I'm well passed noisy exhausts now.

The only performance system I would buy would be a fully custom one so I could make sure it wasn't going to be too loud, the one on my old Corsa was spot on. Not spending the kind of money on it though tbh.

It was a BlueFlame system custom built on the car, was built so well and it sounded fantastic, silent on tickover but kicked in after 3.5k.

Tailpipe looks massive to me now but it was ten years ago

Here is some very old footage of it on a rolling road

Doesn't look too bad that, tho I'd want something very similar just slightly smaller in diameter. I've been looking at this..

Looks alright but I would be worried about how loud it would be without hearing one

Haha yeah thats the thing. I'm kinda thinking of getting a Lexmaul inlet mani when i get paid next, i was gonna keep the engine bay standard but the more i think about it I fancy getting a few performance goodies. May get an aftermarket exhaust mani and a full exhaust system too. Just ordered a strut brace and a genuine centre cap key and bolts for the GSI wheels

Finally got the Sportex removed today, backbox didn't want to budge so split the middle section, pulled it through and chopped it off

New exhaust this week...

Fitted..

Much quieter and for me, much much nicer to drive, along with the loss of the bwwwarrrp sound it no longer knocks on the rear so has dramatically improved the general enjoyment of driving the car.

Headunit finally packed in today, really want a nice standard tape deck but not paying £30 + for one with a code when I can buy a Sony USB only one for £40.

Will have a look at head unit options and make a decision in the next few days

Had some spare time so fitted the new head unit.

The broken CD player..

Replacement tape head unit, much better for me as I can just plug my phone in to the tape jack to play music.

Wanted to try and lower the car a little more this weekend but looking at it, it already scrapes going in and out of my garage so I don't think it's possible to drop it more I'm sure i'll have ago though anyway

Was planning on washing and clay baring this after work but the rain stopped that plan, ended up having a play with the suspension instead, dropped it down all around To me it looks awesome, drives fantastic and doesn't rub at all

Have a couple more pics I will post tomorrow but for now....
