You would be amazed at what isn't included in our new build. Everything is an extra. They sure know how you screw you over for extras.

Some more updates for people to criticise here

Bought these brush chrome LED cabinet downlights

Problem though, they were totally different light colour to the plinth lights, they were blue and had a lens in them that focussed them like a spot light, looked all wrong

So I had 4 plinth lights left over, I basically had to make this fit in that chrome swivel ball

Cut the top off the light

Then trimmed the metal surround off and filed it down smooth

Popped the lens out the originals

Tapped the modified plinth light into it a nice tight interference fit, didnt even need glueing

Original, top, modified below

Did this x3

Heres the difference in light colour and spread

Then this small job turned into a mission, there were dabs everywhere meaning i had to cut pieces out to get a route down the back of the cupboards

Wires up to points, because im using the same lights as the plinths they can just plug straight into the chain of the plinth ones

Holes first layer of plaster

Second layer and sand, they need one more sand then can paint

Then I kinda got lost in the job because I had to have the backs of the lower cupboards off and all sorts, so skip to the fitted pics

Will get another pic when it gets proper dark

Personally think it would look better if you couldn't see the light fittings.

It'd bother me that the single light under the cupboard near the window doesn't appear to be in the centre.

Fair enough. Doesn't look it in the pic, but angles can be deceiving.

This wont be up to the required spec for those on here that pay people to cut their lawns, however I found this schreiber clock halfprice in homebase

Seems to keep a decent track of the time

IIII has been used by watchmakers for ages to make the numerals clearer and avoid confusion

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Missus wanted an extra socket in the bedroom, however all the existing sockets in the bedrooms were spurs, so thought I would put the extra socket in and at the same time extend the ring so the bedroom sockets were already on the ring, did this via connecting into an existing cable in the back using wagos, then the extended cable via the loft

Cut a hole in the bedroom above where the new socket was to go, so I could cut a route through the horizontal stud

The new ring for the new socket

Core screwed on ready to be filled

New socket done

and rest of the sockets now on the ring main
