Club has already made an official statement saying that neither Alonso or Masch will be leaving, they wont go back on that now. Torres isnt going anywhere and neither is Gerrard. Kuyt and Agger have signed new contracts. Not sure who else important is left but anyone else (other than maybe Reina) can go and it wouldnt weaken us.

Lots, mainly to Spanish teams as they are more accomodating to the cultures.

Liverpool fan I work with has much less faith than you Cosmo. He reckons you'll go to rat shit next season and will struggle to finish above Man City

Hes got in his head you'll be selling a load of players this summer to clear the debt and end up with a weak squad.
He is very doom and gloom

We wont be selling any of the players, the losses we made were purely on the parent company (club made a profit) and this was fully expected. The two yanks are covering that debt as its basically their way of paying for the club in installments.
Money is there for players it seems, so all looks good.

Alonso could still go imo, especially if a silly offer comes in. And the team after him like making silly offers

Madrid have come out and said they arent after him. I doubt, unless they did offer something stupid, we'd accept any offer for him.
They've bigger fish to fry, mainly Villa and Ribery.

I wonder why more English clubs dont scout South America more often. I bet you can pick up some little gems down there for not a lot of money.

To be fair, the lure of CL will do it everytime. In my personal opinion obviously.

As, although a jobless paki can get in to the country, a promising young footballer who has a job set up over here that'll pay a good wage and therefore a decent amount of tax cannot.

Work Permits are a major issue aren't they?

Yeah.
IIRC they need to of played 75% of their countries games in the last 3yrs (i.e. for the first team) to get a permit.
When we tried to sign Gonzalez he had played something like 56% of games for Chilie, yet the permit got turned down. Its a fucking joke.
The only way is if a Spanish or Italian relative turns up!
