UPDATE 1/1/2011
So the brakes where due for renewal on the Astra so treated it to some nice new items.
Courtenay 16G Discs
Also rang Autovaux who sorted me out with some Mintex pads and a GM Oil filter, got some GM 10W40 from ebay and Autovaux have also sorted me out with loads of the parts I need in order to fit shark eyes.
All on and fitted, gave the calipers a lick of paint whilst I was at it, haven't really given them a full tester yet as Im still bedding them in so shall report back soon with results.
Whilst the car was up in the air I gave it an oil and filter change using:
So with Christmas out of the way and maintenance done for now the next step is to collect everything else I need in order to fit the new headlights, also noticed with the amount of money I've spent with Courtenay recently that I have a fair few quid off of my next order with them so will have another nose on there site later and see if theres anything that takes my fancy.

How much did the CDTi box cost? I assume you're running an 80mm AFM? have you had it re-calibrated?

Stunning mate I have been following for a while now as I plan to invest in one later on this year . . You do seem to have some bad luck with it, do you honestly enjoy it so much it's worth the problems? I have heard so many mixed reviews on these, can't really beat them looks wise though eh!

Liam - I bought the kit from Courtenay Sport along with one of there panel filters, think it came to around £220 delivered, Im still running the 70mm AFM as Ive used a 80-70mm silicone hose reducer cut down so I can keep the standard AFM until I get it mapped.
belton - cheers pal, I had a few issues in my time with it, and tbh I still have a few niggling problems with it but I'll be sorting all that out in due course.
It didn't and still hasn't put me off owning it, and if anything does break I actually enjoy it as it gives me something to do, I've owned it for over a year now and still feel I haven't even started with the car yet, plenty of changes this year

Update - 28/2/11
First things first, car just went through its second MOT in my ownership and it sailed through with no advisories
Secondly, it was bound to happen eventually, being on 72k miles it was inevitable that this purchase had to be made, so with the turbo on its last legs and £25 off my next order with Courtenay it was rude not to.
Looking to get it fitted this weekend if the weather holds out.

What do you drive now Pete?
Yea should be Chris, Courtenay have set it to Gsi spec, haven't gone for an oil restrictor bolt as I've heard plenty of pro's and con's so left it for the minute, still don't have a definate answer weather its worth investing in one or not?

Do you find the Courtenay AFM to turbo pipe pushes the bonnet up slightly at one side? Mine is lifting the bonnet up a bit on the drivers side.

Yep mine does, have fiddled with the hose and pushed it rite down as far as possible onto the turbo inlet pipe, it touches to bonnet still but hasn't caused any problems.
VXR Turbo is now fitted, not as bad as I thought it would be, need to fiddle with the precat de-cat tomorrow as its blowing and sounds like a tractor, and brains here left the lambda sensor off when starting the car so now need the EML taken off
Also need to top the coolant up but I'll be leaving it to tomorrow when I can be arsed

It's not scaremongering it's pretty simple tbh
Too much oil gets though without it, so it gets burnt away through the exhaust
