seems a bit better today, went on a 30 drive and its only dropped a couple of cm. water is very bubbly though.
Need a tune up as its running rich and has a couple of flat spots but seems to drive ok.
Managed to get a couple of pics of it today.

Still leaking water, found It pissing itself on the driveway . Looks to be coming from the water pipe on the bottom of the inlet. Jubilee clip is also fucked so hoping this is the problem. Now gotta try to get a new clip on it from the top of the engine...

It's not getting it off, it's getting it back on that's the problem. Still need to sort out the black spark plugs and that its running lumpy. Not too sure what the problem could be here, fuel pressure regulator all seems ok?

I'd check the connections to the usual suspects mate, such as throttle position sensor, idle control valve, coolant temp sensor

Engine took a turn for the worst today . While driving the engine management light came on and starting jumping all over the place while driving. Light eventually went off but now has no power what do ever, is jumping in every gear all revs and won't go above 30 no matter how hard you push the pedal.
Who's idea was it to change the engine anyway? Lol

Can that be done without diognostic equipment? Could this just be a sensor? I'm hoping so

cheers shaun.
Even more bad news im afriad. after taking the car to Haynes engineering, found out what i thought was white smoke/ condensation is actually blue smoke which means the piston rings are fu***d. to say im dissapointed is an understatement.
3 days of driving and its off the road again needing to be rebuilt. While this isnt going to sort out the EML or kangerooing ive expierenced, this is more of an immediate problem.
When we rebuilt the engine, it was only a top end rebuild as we thought the bottom would be ok and didnt really fancy taking the pistons out.
Guess thats what happens when you cut corners on an engine build....
oh and never believe someone who says the engine is decent and strong as it probaby isnt!

Ahh bugger gutted for you mate. I know your pain, exactly the same happened to mine after I put it in Mine also kangeroo'd terribly before I rebuilt it.
Are you going to carry on using it for the time being so you can still come to PVS in it? Won't do it any harm
Hope you get it sorted Martin!

im hoping to get it done by PVS, if not then it wont be going lol. Its not just the rings , its the shite performance aswell. its one of those things thats annoyed me so much ive gotta do it ASAP. luckily im off this week so can get the head off etc and ready hopefully to think about doing the rings this weekend maybe. can see this being a proper push for PVS but im determined to get there!
you said yours used to kangeroo? how did you fix it? does it have anything to do with no having a EGR valve? done the paperclip test and thats what came up?

Fair play for wanting to get stuck right in Mine stopped after I rebuilt it so Im not sure what the actually cause was. But the best thing to do is bolt the EGR onto the back of blanking plate then plug it back in. That way you don't get the EML flashing up and the ECU thinks its still doing it job
