They refused to deviate from their own normal passing game and were outdone by the masters at it.
I actually think Spurs would have a chance against them, Redknapp is more pragmatic than Wenger and would go long if need be. Spurs have the pace and energy to do damage on the counter as well.

If they could have got on the ball for more than 20 seconds at a time they would have.

Barca were brilliant in posession but a bit wasteful in front of goal (and Almunia was really good at times), can't see anyone beating them in the CL, BUT if it is to happen it'll be a team that doesn't try to play them at there own game. The thing I noticed most about them last night was there work rate, they rushed the arsenal defence and midfield every time they got hold of the ball (which tbf wasn't very often). Shame RVP got sent off but it wouldn't have made much difference, I understand his rant though as it was a rediculous decision that 2nd yellow.
Manager at work is adomant Shaktar can do them

When ever we got the ball we were looking to knock it up top, wasn't trying our normal passing game at all.
Spurs would stand a chance on the counter imo especially if bale/lennon play. especially on Alves side.

Spurs can beat anyone on their day but then they do need VDV, Bale etc... in the side.
Arse just seemed sloppy last night. Almunia always seemed to be in a rush to get the ball back into play. He should of just held onto it for the 6 secs he's allowed just so they could of composed themselves. Barca just hounded the ball and had it back within secs.

^^ Thats how Inter beat them last season.
Yes it is, when I said playing them at there own game I was referring to Arsenal trying to out pass them We've already seen what happens when Jose's RM team try and get in there faces though haven't we in La Liga? I'm gonna put £50 on them to win the CL, not even the mighty Tottenham could beat them.
Jeez. I know this. I was agreeing.

Their home record is incredible, not lost at home since 2008. That's even better than the mighty Celtic

If spurs end up beating Barca i'm going to go and live in a cave on an island somewhere.
Just to add too, RVP sending off MAY not have actually made a difference, BUT even at the end we only needed 1 goal to go through. Who says with 11 men we might not have caused another dodgy own goal etc etc. And I think RVP would have finished benders effort.
But we will never know. 1 goal would have done it, and it would have been a daylight robbing of the highest order, but chances would have been increased with 11 men on pitch.

most peoples view on yesterdays game was that arsenal should have shut up shop and hit the ball long?

Shut up shop pmsl.
If Basil had actually wanted to shut up shop he could have played Eboue right wing and Gibbs left wing, Nasri in centre, rested Cesc. Bender up top for defensive height and set piece attacks.
But he doesn't think like that.
