Nah predetermined amount of laps, when they decide to make a run for it is up to the individual though.

Once you're in the lead and within the red line your opponent can't touch you unless they're clearly going faster.

It's quite simple mate

There's been cases when one of the 2 has decided to blast it from the start and won. In fact Kenny done it to the French guy he's facing just now but got DQ'd.
