I need tyre recommendations. Got Scwalbe Rapid Robs which were standard issue.
I don't have much confidence in them. And where I ride it can get quite muddy.
What do people think of the Rapid Robs? Are they adequate for my needs? If not, what do you suggest....I only do XC/Trail farting about nothing serious.

Is that the pair you mentioned Cole?
Infact I would go for the rebas which are only a tender more and come in white

I got a conti rubber queen black chilli on the front and conti mountain king rear.
The mountain king is shocking slippy, so I tend to ride sideways a lot.
This needs replacing and I don't know what to get either.

I've got 2.25 Schwalbe Nobby Nic Evo tubeless tyres. Best tyres I've ever had. The grip is awesome. Especially seen as I can run them at much lower pressures seen as there's no tube to burst.

Had various Maxxis and Continentals but none are a patch on these. You can get a none tubeless version too.
The Rapid Rob are quite a cheap tyre, I'd get them changed mate.

I have got Conti Rubber Queen Black Chilli 2.2s on my bike, love them, quite expensive £37 each, but I'd buy them again in a heartbeat..
I used to have maxxis ADvantage which are fine for XC duties, but I didn't have a great amount of confidence in them when it was wet, but it depended how fast I was attempting to go

Yep. Certain it will. Its ideal for saloons.
had it on mine on the weekend fits an e46 fine although slight issue that the bikes cover the lights and number plate mostly. I got tow bar socket so trailer board cures that.

That combo should be ok for this weekend mate. I love my bontrager xr muds cut through the sloppy stuff and nice and grippy in the wet corners

I converted my MTB to tubeless.
I guess one benefit would be less likely to get pinch punctures.

Was always a Schwalbe fan but got some Continental Mountain Kings with Black Chili compound on my Hustler and they're really good. I even lost a nobble on a ride in the Brecon Beacons and Continental/Cambrian Tyres replaced it FOC under warranty, and the tyre was 9 months old. They are a bit dodgey in the wet though but soon grip in.
Dad is running Maxxis Ardents on his Kalula (so freeride/DH bike) and he said they're superb. Can only be just as good for XC/all mountain.
Scwalbe Big Jims or Fat Alberts were always a favourite - not sure if they still do them.
Don't scrimp on tyres - nice wide, good grippy tyres can make a bike feel completely different.

Muppet question.
If you get a puncture with tubeless how do you repair it? or can't you?
Also, whats the crack with valves. Do you get screw in ones for tubeless, that fit into the rim?
Sorry if this is a really stupid question!

Valves yes and you put sealant in the tyre. Look on the Stans No-Tubes website and look at the videos of the bloke riding a MTB over a load of nails. So simple but very clever stuff IMO.

You can do it with a 20"bmx tube cut in half around the rim and use the valve from that

You don't need to repair punctures the sealant repairs it for you. I've had a couple of punctures and they sorted themselves out in a few minutes. I partially ripped a tread block off and the sealant sealed it and stuck it back together I found my tyres were an absolute bastard to fit with them having the super stiff sidewalls, that's the only downside. Oh, thought of another downside. You've still got to stop when your cheap skate mates get a puncture because they're still running tubes...

Back on the subject of bike racks which I read whilst on phone so couldn't grab the link, this always looks very sturdy when I see it in car parks.
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_251029_langId_-1_categoryId_165477
But BUGGER pay £159 for it. It used to be £120, and discounted to £89.99 when there was a sale on. It was originally branded as a Halfords rack then Exodus, which I believe is an in house brand name. But it is actually manufactured by Mont Blanc.
Although it looks unsightly, this actually works really well.
http://www.pendle-bike.co.uk/shopping/strap-on-rack.php
I borrowed one off a mate when I had my Punto. It cleared the tailgate spoiler, so decent for anyone with one of them. When it was mounted with all 6 straps (works without the 2 side ones) I could rock the car side to side with the rack it was that tight. And the Punto had shockingly hard suspension.

You just need to check if you can get a tubeless kit for your rims. Mine were tubeless ready so only had to buy a plastic strip that seals the holes for the spokes, the sealant and the tyres instead of a kit.
One of my mates can't convert his wheels to tubeless due to the design of the rim.
