Shaqiri, Afellay and Bojan are all ridiculous signings for Stoke City.

Shaqiri will be decent. Quick, skilful, can pass, can shoot, looks pretty strong. Stoke are certainly going in the right direction. Dont forget they've got the likes of Van Ginkel in their side too!

I assume they'd go 4-3-3 with Depay, Rooney and Pedro up top?

Said it all summer, we need 2 solid centre backs. Blind has said he will fill in this role so that would mean Pedro could fight with Carrick, Mata, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Herrera, Fellaini...Cos we didn't have enough midfield options lol!

At least if Hernandez stays our forward options remain quite decent.

Surely the team will be

Romero
Darmian-Jones/smalling-Rojo-Shaw
Carrick/Pig Farmer - Schniedelin
Pedro-Depay-Mata
Rooney

Pedro is neither a midfielder or a striker as an out and out player.

Mata, Pedro, Herrera and Fellaini are completely different midfielders to carrick, pig farmer and blind. They will not compete with each other for places.

Also, not seen much of schniederlin really but was impressed on sat, gets about and likes to get stuck in. Can pass a ball too.

It looks like LVG is going to play Depay centrally. What I don't get though, is why he's playing him at what appears to be attacking mid, as that's exactly where Mata is at his best. I thought Depay would be deployed up front alongside/instead of Rooney. They really do need that out and out finisher tbh. Januzaj, Young, Valencia and a few of the young players (lingaard, Pereira?) can fill the wide roles.

Pedro Mata Depay
Rooney

That's where all players want to play and at their best, but it'll be a huge year for Rooney tbh.

Can't get my head round why Depay is laying centrally and mata out wide either. Doesn't LVG have history of doing that with his front players. Like playing a left sided player down the right etc.

Van Ginkel hasn't quite the reputation as the aforementioned. For now anyway. Hope he does well, though.

Irony being Ozil is a fucking damn good footballer. Not sure what on earth has happened really. I guess an accumulation of many things.

At RM, he had an abundance of world class talent making runs to play the ball to. At Arsenal, he has Giroud, who isn't the type to be making those runs. I think Ozil is class, but I don't think he's suited to Arsenal when they could just as easily have played Cazorla there.

I can't see it personally. They couldn't cut the mustard at bigger clubs so have dropped a level? Seems the perfect fit to me. Dunno why the 3 mentioned above are held in such high esteem, surely a bigger club would have snapped them up if they were rated that highly in the game?

He isn't coming, just like Muller isn't coming and just like Evans is leaving.

But the express said Muller desperately wants to leave one of the top 3 teams in the world to join United?!

Desperately seems a bit over dramatic!

A player who plays for BM wants to join a team that finished 4th with a paper defence and too many midfield players that can barely beat Villa!

Oh and if we do get Pedro and Muller to join the additions of Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Romero, Darmian and Depay I am going to be a little bit disappointed.

7 potential new signings and only one defender...
