So a fair few beers and some work tonight

Welded the corners and extensions of wings

Not dressed yet like

Then made rad mounts

Rad sat a bit high due to bumper fixings so made a funnel for air

Then looked at how front bumper sat

Then tried to remove to pull in.... No luck it fouled our rad mounts lol cut out and trimed then re welded

Alas bumper half or 3/4 trimmed - still needs work

Will finish and dress next time along with welding any holes in the floor i find

That welding is something else..

It breaks my heart a little that someone so talentless with a welder has been let loose on what looks like a tidy shell.

Thought the same thing davey, probably why the word "dress" is being used so frequently.

I'm getting a bit bored of this thread now it just seems to be loads of close up pics of bad welds on every update, when's something major gonna happen?

Theres absoloutely nothing wrong with those welds lol although im sure davey lc lord of the universe could do better on 40 year old extremly thin metal....

If your bored then id advise not reading the next few updates as they will be:

Dressing the panels back
Finish the bumper
Remove screens
Clean up the inside
Weld any holes in the floor
Remove the plate recess
Weld up and dress the trim holes in the bumpers
Roll the arches

Then and only then will mechanical work start - probably back axle first then engine (i need a different box)

My five week old son and my dog could do better.. It looks like you're using a welder with fixed power settings and not enough gas .

It really is Rough

In all fairness I can't weld to save my life, but the welds Iv done whilst messing about look on par if not better than them, isn't the guy doing the welding meant to actually be s welder? Or are you doing it? If it's you then fair play but someone who claims to do a lot of it that's wank.

Dressed them up a bit quickly

Once they have a DA down and a skim in they will be decent

Rolled rear arches - gained about 10mm a side ( they are solid but still have 1mm of bodge in which has cracked off lol)

Just on with bumper now and then ill get pics

I think it looks good!

You'll need to put something behind the gap between the bonnet and the wing though or you'll get a really crap line of light with the headlights on.

Had a hand off the bairn to roll the arches on the rear, will do the fronts midweek

Its really quite a fuck on when for no reason your arches have 1-2mm of bodge on

Needs bodge addressing but im pretty happy

Then here is how the front looks, again needs a going over with a DA, bumper pulled in

Plans this week is to get some filler and sort bonnet and wings, arches and badge holes...

Roll front arches

Windows out

Clean up inside

Lol i think its the pics making the gaps look worse, they are probs the best they have ever been lmao

Wings at front are caked in bodge going to DA it back and do it properly

Arches are bodged for no reason lol fuck knows why but im going to do them too

Only £35 for the roller so silly not to

Nic it will look great close up too - keep the faith - looks worse because of the line where i ground bodge
