Cheers Kev,got bored of the pressed ones as I think plain ones make it cleaner looking.
Thanks alot Jeff,it's good to hear that. Still don't know if to do the cage gloss black or keep it chrome. Hmm.
Cheers Ad.

Update : 10.1.2013
As you all know I've had a show cage and new Sparco steering wheel fitted. The cage was originally out of a Mk1 Focus I was told and had already been in a corsa before so i knew it would be no probs fitting it.
Was abit of a tight fit getting it in but we got there in the end with alot of help from my wing man Ash. Cheers bro!
The cage also needed abit of work as the legs didn't sit flush with body. Ash grinded off the old ones and welded new flat ones to it. Made it look easy tbh haha.
Here's some pics of how we got on.
The night I picked the cage up
End of the legs,as you can see there thin and would be shite if we just placed it in like that.
Took it upto Ash's following day to start work
We then tried test fitting it so that meant passenger seat had to come out.
Empty.
Then offered it up (no pics) and worked out what needed doing so took it back out and grinder came out.
Ash grinding the old legs off.
Brackets off and nice and flush.
Then once all brackets were took off we then re fitted it.
Offered on rear.
Ash then making some plates up for bottom of legs.
Car empty.
Plates placed into place and then welded.
Other leg.
The rear legs had to have smaller plates for it to fit.
All the plates were then tidied up to make welds look neater etc.
All done and ready to be drilled and bolted up.
Placed into car again.
Front legs, had to be bent to sit right.
Rear legs.
Bolted up,not the biggest of bolts but they hold it in place. Can get gold of cage and it shakes all car which is what we wanted.
Rears bolted up,scratched abit of the floor trying to get it in but has been touched up recently.
Other side.
Ash checking how far the bolts up out underneath arches. Ground end of thread off so there's more clearance.
Ash thinking he's at bangers.
Bar that goes across bolted in.
Another of Ash.
A pic from front.
Fish eye pic.
And then that was it,all went well and want to thank Ash alot. Without him I couldn't have done it. Love it to bits. Still needs to go gloss black but I'll do that at a later date.
Once that was done it was time to order my new sparco steering wheel and OMP boss. Here's the boss when it arrived first.
And then the new Sparco steering wheel arrived. Had to wait abit longer for it to arrive as they had to order it from Italy but it was worth it. I went with the leather R345 350mm 63mm dish. Didn't want to get the suede one as they wear quickly imo plus I use it as a daily.

Surely it's less risky if it's bolted in? What would you have said if I'd not bolted it down lol.
It's a only a show cage, how many people on here have 'em?

The forces of a decent crash will rip them bolts out. Its not even on the rear inner arch its over hanging.
And it looks like your making a track car/ or at least going to be doing them. I wouldnt risk a show cage held in by little bolts

Nah it'll never be a track car, well i hope not. lol.
I could always put bigger bolts in if i had too. The cage is simply for show.
