Marlow, its a mental hospital and yes its seriously fcuked up.
you guys mean the canadian one in Taplow?
went there last year or the one before for a snoop about. pretty weird place. wouldn't want to be there during the night.
still quite a bit of stuff lying about theplace, but it looked like it was being cleared out.
another friend had gone there at some time in '03 and there were still patient records and stuff lying around which he took some of out of curiosity.
had a look through some of them and it's quite sureal given that they are 15+ years old.
here's some pics.
kitchen
corridor
chapel
bogs
view from staff quarters
main entrance
was quality in a freaky way. apparently there's an old manor house nearby aswell that i'd love to go to, but apparently they doa lot of police training there so it would have to be timed well.
sorry to go off topic Lynny.
st mary's sounds very odd. it must still be being used for something if the guards are armed.
hope you get a little closer to the truth.

Cheers, hoping to go back soon for a proper look about. It's not just the armed police, its the lack of records and the what the doctor said about the TB etc, all seems a bit odd....

Its all bollox,
a friend of mine went to a local one to me
Severalls hospital, i researched it for about a week
he went along and of course yes it was a mental insitution, there were padded rooms, miles of corridors, mirrors behind doors
and the reason its guraded 24-7 and theres cctv was because of people like him trying to get in there.
The health and safety is a huge risk to people entering as parts of the building are unsafe.
So basically stop reading into something thats just an old closed down mental hospital

there was about 3 or 4 of them when i was there, but theres other people in the guard house place aswell as the guards, plus they do regular patrols with the dogs

point back then was the same as it is now though...why can't they?
if all it's doing is causing a danger/threat to people y not just get rid of it

because of law, they cant knock it down for so many years, incase they need te building/land again. just one fo those stupid things. other retail land ect will be kept to stop competitors i.e. pontins

basically because some doctor said it carries TB - well why the fuck havent all the guards got it then?
People are seriously blowing this out of proportion, same thing as a place about 10 miles from me
