My friendly neighbourhood tyre fitters wanted to charge me £30 to strip 4 tyres, fit 4 valves, fit 4 tyres and balance them.

They wanted £8 extra for 4 valves

They also said they couldn't balance steel wheels with stick on weights as they're not designed for it.

I informed him that I used to work as a tyre fitter and I know that 4 valves aren't £8, and that steels can be balanced however you like.

They charged me £20 in the end

Cheers, I wasn't so sure, I'm still not, but it'll grow on me like the stripes have.

I'll get some pics of them Phil, they will be for sale, but I managed to take a little chunk out of one earlier when I was parking in the only space in VW's carpark, between a badly parked Polo and the curb

It's not bad, but it's there

I was going to ask for £325, but with the damage I'll have to drop it to about £280 I suppose

I'll get some pics tomorrow after I've sponged them down.

Oh FFS, now you tell me how cheap it would have been

Probably would have cost me about £40, and I bet you don't stock them anyway, so that's 2 trips, which makes them a tenner more expensive

Standard one

I'll change it if I ever get the 16v engine in.
