That'd proabably suit me better, not really wanting to be getting involved in any sort of races etc so a more relaxed geo would be better.

Well i've been thinking about buying a bike for a while now and as i'm getting fat i decided to get on with it.

Picked this up today:

I wasnt willing to spend too much too much as i don't know how much use i'll get out of it yet. If i get into riding again i'll most likely upgrade.

After building it up i took it up the road to set up the seat level etc. I was only out 30mins and was knackered

Also, after not riding a bike for nearly 10 years i was all over the place

Well ive been out for a hour so. Didnt bother measuring distance etc. Rode on a riverside path thinking it would be a nice steady ride. Oh how wrong was I! Constantly up and down with tree roots and steps everywhere. Enjoyed it though.

One problem though, my ass is killing me! New saddle or padded pants time?

Padded pants. Time in the saddle is the only real cure. Build up your goochimus maximus.

Need to invest in a decent teeshirt as well. Normal cotton tee is far too warm!

I've got a couple of pairs of padded shorts from Sports Soccer recently, baggy shorts not lycra! Pretty decent and a fraction of the cost of others.

Doing an off road race tomorrow at Blenheim Palace, have borrowed a 29" Kona Kahuna Deluxe for it. Should be good!
