so got the dash done, started to wrap and attach the wiring to the bulkhead when i remembered i hadnt sorted the ignition live for the ecu out. wired that up, fired ignition on. all dash lights, ecu powers up, all lights work etc. happy. then realised i didnt have a deafening noise coming from the back. neither of the fuel pumps are priming up, or running. wtf. ive definitely not chopped any of that out. need to go and check how the emerald powers up the fuel pumps and go from there i think. they are wired from the battery through relays in the boot so it can only be, hopefully that is, the ecu trigger to switch them on. although thats the std wire in the loom and i can see that, just cant see where the emerald is wired to it. ffs.

got the pumps to work by putting live to the triggers for the relays then traced the wiring back, found the wire in the plug for the emerald ecu pin 20, brown wire. followed the emerald loom until where the few wires that remain in the car bridge out, found the brown, followed it back until where it was supposed to be connected to the blue and red for the fuel pump, wasnt connected. joined back together still didnt work. damn. last thought was to bridge it from the factory immobiliser unit, primed up. so the problem is more than likely ive chopped something out that the std immobiliser needs. although with it unplugged everything still works now, so its useless i guess apart from stopping the bloody fuel pumps working pmsl.
will re-wire the pump trigger tomorrow and tidy the loom back up, then clean it up inside. job completed.

thats what im left with instead of the multi plugs
previously like above.
didnt know what to do with the ecu, but sorted that with a custom made bracket as pictured later.
thats the bugger that was stopping everything running yesterday. dont need it anymore so in the bin it went. more weight saving.
job done
ecu mounted securely on a custom made bracket.....
looks better tbh. like the new wheel more now.
next job is to re-locate those into where the radio slot is. need a bit of trimming though.

few items for the bmw that it could do with. new discs and pads all round and rear handbrake shoes. also to cure the abs light had to buy a front wheel bearing/hub as it has the abs ring on which is what the issue is. hopefully get them done next days at work.
