new hub

reason why traction control and abs wasnt working, and the reason i had to buy a new hub. the ring is knackered, possibly been smashed with a hammer at some point. abs light and traction light are out now so thats sorted that.

eurofailparts gave me the wrong pads the first time. got the right pads at a couple of quid more cost ffs.

so fronts and front hub is done, no pics for the internet as i didnt have enough time to stop as it was getting close to finishing time at work.

tomorrow, hopefully get the back discs and pads and shoes done. then it can get its mot in a week or so.

So started doing the rears at work. Pads and discs were fucked which I knew about. Favourite bit was the shoes. Someone obviously had a problem on one side and removed them completely. Lol. No parts nothing. Managed to find an adjuster at work had to buy a new spreader for the cable from BMW. Mot on weekend now.

well mot failed this morning. only one fail which isnt bad which was an "incomplete rear spring" as the top part has cracked off which i knew about. if it had the start of the pigtail bit it would have passed with an advisory, but sadly its snapped just past that. new spring ordered up be here monday so it can go for a re-test and thats that for a year. not bad. actually expected it to have more fails.

£22 for a new one to get it through its mot, thought it be better just to get it back on the road tbh. dont really want a daily driver/tow car lowered. made that mistake with the vectra.

first night out in the corsa in over 2 months. battery is fooked. had to jump it at home, got to my mates house, had to jump it off her car as i took it for a run out for an hour to try and charge it a bit, then as i went home just before had to jump it again ffs. off to work on my day off tomorrow for a battery then.

in other news, the steering wheel is ok actually. i was expecting it to be a lot worse and too close, other than having to actually remove hands from the wheel to opperate stalks for indicators and wipers, its spot on.

BMW mot re-test done today. Spring was easy to fit using a lever to pull arm down just swap them out by hand. Shocker bolt out and wheel off obviously.

New battery purchased for the corsa as well so will fit that tomorrow hopefully cures it and its not an earth issue from when I chopped dash wiring out.........

fitted new battery onto the corsa. its a lion, 3 year warranty and what have you. also a mate gave me a battery conditioner to help maintain the charge while it sits over winter.

still looking almost respectable under there. havent opened the bonnet in months. due an oil change and might change the coolant as well on the weekend.
