Just the induction kit mate, think the sound comes from the standard bosch valve recirculating the air, which you probably wouldnt be able to hear with the airbox.

Robin probably knows more about how it work tbh im just guessing

after hearing what everyone says about atmospheric DV's i decided that they are not worth the hassle especially if you can hear the dump without

Yeah definately mate steer well clear of them They do sound funky but mess up the MAF etc

Besides which, as you say, a perf panel filter or induction kit will heighten the sound regardless, besides which the std DV is relatively loud... a lot louder than on my MK V anyhoo! Sucks like a trooper too eh

But as said, get a Forge 007P re-circ valve

As far as im aware they just make the car go into limp mode as the vehicle thinks there is a leak in the VAC system, i think.

I think it is something to do with that rob. the engine is expecting some recirculated air but with the atmospheric dump valves there is non being recircd and the engine/ecu doesnt like it.

doesnt matter on the older turbo engines around 2000 and earlier though iirc.

forge split-r's i've heard are fine as they recirc enough air to keep the car happy.

yeah, the air is recirculated into the inlet, the airbox normally muffles it, so without it, it's loads louder

mine annoys me TBH
