I'd be more worried about the damage it caused when it went missing

Just did another on foot range test for the diy radio booster hack, stood on this bridge whilst I left the radio in my garden at home

Managed to get nearly 2.2kms away, and I didnt even have line of site back to my radio, still yet to find the limits. Safe to say I think the hack has benefitted lol

Heres the flight

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NRqWFYty6Q&hd=1

cant wait for my motors and props etc to turn up then I can balance everything and stop these vibrations.

trouble is I have to get everything from America as no one really stocks much over here, takes ages

What are you actually trying to achieve or do with it as a final goal? I find it all very cool but seems like you are spunking loads of money on tiny tweaks for the sake of it? What are you going to use it for where vibrations are a problem?

vibrations create jello on the video.

the long range stuff is merely so I can find the limits, which is fairly important to know.

im going to basically carry on doing what I was doing with my previous drone making vids, of stuff more interesting than fields around me lol, I may even start getting into this sport fpv stuff, some of that is pretty impressive eg

Probs build a f330 frame for that though with open pilot

I reckon the numbers a good idea, if I found that I'd ring up and return it, I think most normal folk would. 90% wouldn't know what it was.

That first video is good. Would be awesome if there was a few of them racing. Imagine the crashes

What if you are out droning and you meet another drone in the sky. Is there a procedure for that?

How much to turn up at one of our project sites, fly around a bit and give us the video/stills?

Building projects, I could see a use for this type of thing at a number of different stages; surveys, when we are doing feasibility / concept work - we currently make use of Bing Maps - Birdseye view a good amount, construction progress and also overview shots of finished buildings. Stills would be of most use. We mainly work in the South / South East

There are companies that do UAV surveys.. You can even buy an out of the box UAV called the Gatewing X100

http://www.gatewing.com/X100

Its 50,000 dollars though.

I'm not necessarily thinking surveys, that is something that we don't deal with ourselves anyway, that plane does look a pretty capable though. My use would be more for presentation purposes. We've used aerial photography before on projects with chaps with poles mounted to their landrovers, obviously a bit more flexibility with this though if the stills you can acquire from a gopro are good enough that is...
