I have been known to do that Eck  It sometimes works and you can get right to M-COM A before anyone has had chance to get in a good position to shoot you.
I must of revived you 3 or 4 times the other night and every time I got shot immediately afterwards

on battlefield 2 the transport helicopters weren't for firing on the enemy, they were for flying above strongpoints and ejecting out so you don't have to fight your way there  maybe they were planning that then realised they had nothing to attack

Aye I noticed that I was on a mission to get the better machine gun. But I've now realised most of them are shit  So I'm sticking to the M24!

The Blackhawk is like that, you just get men in, and they dive out over the enemy. But the gatling guns are fucking lethal so it's handy to have two fella's still there!
