Still not ordered them, figured because I'm going away next week I don't want them to arrive without me being home.
But I've just found out Havair do 0% finance on air ride.... Could be dangerous

Not too familiar with the area. Over the stupid roundabout near Tesco/M&S and over a bridge, it's up on the right hand side!

Is it stripped out too?

Yeah that's blackwater. It's stripped out at the moment, he's got some welding on the inside of the rear arch that needs doing so he stripped it out yesterday to see how bad it was. Down this way long?

Just the weekend. Grandparents live here so just a quick visit. Back down in October for a week!

Every time I visit this thread I'm on eBay shortly after looking at 944's

Oh fair enough! Give us a shout when you're down in October the engine should be in then.

I'd grab one before they go up any more in value

*****UPDATE*****

So a bit of work and purchasing has been happening.

I got the sump off to get to the big ends and crank:

With the girdle set up these cranks don't tend to wear much. I decided I'd see if it needed a regrind.

Using a plastiguage I measured the cranks tolerance. The factory specs are between 0.038-0.07. as you can see below mine was better than that. Each one actually measured 0.025

It's safe to say only shells/bearing will get changed.

I got the engine cleaned down and painted.

I also bought 2 more goodies

Yup a new gearbox and Diff.

I bought an S2 gearbox as it has hardened gears like the turbo box but is closer ratio than the turbo so should make it a bit quicker through the gears. The standard gears feel slightly too long for track/acceleration as it's really made for autobahns.

I've now got the full rebuild kit, exhaust and various other parts I was missing so it won't be long now.

Cheers Dave. Yeah it's an ATB. Not as good as the turbos original clutch lsd but as most of them are the same price with 100k on them this should be just as good.

Did the gearbox come with oil?

Nice work, should be fun when it's done.

My problem is I don't even know if I want another car, I've looked at so many different vehicles recently, and not picked any.
