Hey! Both cars look spot on. Gonna be class when they're all done!

On the 8v, did you get a complete exhaust system made 4 it or did you just mate it to another aftermarket cat-back system?

UPDATE:

3rd Feb 2008

Ok quite a bit to report so here goes...

Saturday a mate from work popped down in his XE Corsa to have some new suspension fitted (he'd brought my old Bilstein kit off me) along with Poly Bushing the front end and removing the front ARB.

When it arrived

Front ride height is about right but its got the wrong poundage springs and crappy GMax shocks on it

And Spax on the rear

Rears first

Spax v Bilstein

And fitted

Front GMax

ARB soon to be removed

Not much difference in Piston diameter

The black springs are 2.0 Poundage

And fitted

Next we removed the Tiebar and Wishbone

Standard Bush

Tie Bar Bush

We then burn't the old wishbone bushes out

And fitted the poly bushes

The Tie Bar bush would not burn out though

So we found a local press

And pressed them out and some new ones in

Then DHDev (640kg 1.6 16v Nova owner off here) turned up with his new barge....sorry calibra. To which we started changing the suspension on but gave up due to a dodgey ball joint thread. Unfortunetely my camera packed up at this point. So will have to wait for him to post pics.

On to Sunday

The Van has Seats and Harnesses

The wiring on the back of the block was finished

Weber Cossie Fuel Pressure Reg and fuel lines fitted

The final bits of the dash and dash clocks were fitted

Battery in and connected

Then we tried the electrics and thankfully everything worked and the engine Turned over for the first time (without ignition leads or water though) Woo Hooo.... We're going for the first proper engine run on Tuesday night

Then finally the uprated rear engine mount was fitted

And thats it for this weekend

Looking forward to Tuesday night now

Neil

If you look about 10 pages back you'll see all the pics of the Exhaust being made up by JP Exhausts Its all custom made and no CAT.

Yep they had to be made up like yours using the standard Corsa runners, but bolted on the bottom (not side mount)

That Corsa has only recently been run in and dyno'd after a 2k Engine rebuild. Here's a few pics of it during the rebuild

And built up

Its now pumping out a claimed 170ish bhp at the wheels!

Im sure the owner will post the dynosheet and further pics. But thats all i've got im afraid.

Hi mate, yes we can but we're spending every spare minute on our own cars at the moment You can either wait a week or two or take it to a local garage near the town of Southam (only a few miles from Leamington) who have done many XE conversions and will look over it for you no probs. Let me know if you want there contact details. (its the place where the Van is at the moment)

Cheers

Thanks again for the help on the barge neil! I think I may need to fit some different springs tho, its ridiculously low at the front and I can't get over speedhumps without catching! I didn't take any pics today as I was in a bit of a rush, these are the pics from yesterday, but they're not great!

Here's how the car sat before on the -60mm springs and standard shocks. I'll get some pics of the new ride height soon.

It did indeed Rick! Why? Do you know some of its History? Apparently the engine has been around quite a bit and has been fitted in quite a few cars (which would explain why it was worn out )

Did it have the Omegas in when it was stripped? I am 99% sure thats my old novas engine, did it have any recepts with it? God i loved my car with that engine in, used to be able to thrash it and nowt ever went wrong with it. It should have had ARP rod bolts and possibly a SBD nylon pressure relief valve.

Think i built it about 8 years ago or something like that iirc.
