Get the X18XE1 from a vectra. Only GROUP10
Go on it'd suit your car to the ground
And i only got 2NCD and got my whole car insured for about £6-700 so not that bad either

Really? Might have to look into that then! I need to start getting some quotes now to give me an idea of what its going to be like. I will be 19 with 2ncb when I come to insure it

its because the gsi is a 'hot hatch' where the 1800 engine comes from the astra/vectra and isnt classed as sporty
when u looking at doing it mate

looking for an engine/donar car at the minute Was thinking about doing the actual conversion towards the end of the year but now I'm not sure I fancy doing it in the winter :S If I do it september ish time when its still warm it would mean not using the car until february as thats when I turn 19 not sure what to do
The costs are a big factor for me as im a full time student which is why the 1.4 SRI conversion was appealing to me. I've not looked into the 1.8 conversion in great detail but will do some reading up on it this afternoon to see if its something that might possible

X18XE1 coversion looks really cheap, need engine (not gearbox), you may need an 8v mount, loom/ecu and transponder.
Easy

Another pre pvs update As some of you will have noticed my drivers side door had a dodgey dark patch in the middle of it. Always let the car down and decided I wanted it sorted for pvs!
I got my spare drivers side door out of the garden and gave it a good clean up. Pleased to find that it was still in very good condition
Off came the rub strip
Mate let me borrow his toffee wheel to remove all the glue, worked a treat!
Then me and my dad set about swapping the door over. Removed the old one first ready to take the window, central locking etc out of it to transfer into the new one.
With everything transfered over we fitted the new door. Only to find that the lock had some how broken luckily I had a spare so we got that changed over. Had a couple of issues with the central locking but got there in the end
No more wierd dark patch! looks so much better. Havent put the mirror back on yet as theres a little rust patch forming just below it that I want to sort first
Finally heres a couple of nice photos I took of it last week with Jadyn and Luke
Roll on PVS

All it need is a driver engine mount (99% sure) and you'd have to get the 16V radiator plumbing. And the rest is the same as a 1.4/1.6 to 1.8 conversion
That's about it and the rest is straight forward But may want an F13/15 (not sure what 1.0 have?)
Beat me too it Shaun

lol sorry to disappoint you mate I did look into the 1.8 conversion in detail but I've decided its not for me. 1.6 16v is what I really fancy with some perfomance modifications progress on this will be starting shortly all being well.
