drive way spec. but it wont be that cheap. few hundred quids worth of fuel pumps, some high flow fuel filters, a swirl pot and some braided hoses. something like that.

tonight ghetto antics consisted of a soldering iron, a honda turbo, some electronic control unit, a spoon, and some board.
to begin with the ecu was removed from the car. this is for safety purposes and because it would simply be impossible other wise. no pics of the removal sadly.
one of them
remove some of them
leaves you with that like so
one board for changing chips. ignore the other chip it has some daft 9600 rpm limit so not used.
thats the chip thats getting fitted. you cant read it but it says spoon sport on it. i love the terms for jap stuff. spoon, buddy club. wtf.
probably cant make it out too well, but there are 2 lines underneath which is the bottom of the std chip through the board. these needed the solder removed.
which was done like so
and there is the std chip out
sadly for some reason all the pics i took after this didnt work on my camera phone. annoying. anyway, the job was completed and the new spoon sport chip was fitted and off to asda we went to get some milk for cups of tea. car feels much faster mid range, pulls well up the top end also. most importantly though this chip removes the 112mph speed limiter as my mate slicks prelude is an import jdm bb4 model or something. so its now a de-restrivted jdm bb4 turbo spoon prelude.
next on the list for the prelude at some point is a p28, a chrome, an ostrich and maybe some more spoon. top laughs on a monday night though.

My mate blair had fuel problems with his c20let corsa, (high powered)
You may have seen him knocking about migweb nic?
He has used the pump in the tank going to a swirl pot then bought an upgrded porsche item for after the swirl pot, says it should cope dandy and didnt cost the earth

today at work i was mostly enjoying this wagon
amusing
also, the corsa runs a saxo power steering pump. this is powered via a relay which needs a normal size 40amp fuse. cant find these in garages etc so i got my mate to get me some as he is an auto electrician by trade. fired a new fuse in at work as i was leaving. lovely pas again. can turn corners and stuff effortlesly.
problem being now that the steering is lighter, its a twat to control. forever over correcting torque steer in 4th on the way home. quite dangerous.
therefore todays conclusions are. power steering is dangerous.

id rather just have a manual rack tbh shep. i should have changed it when i had the chance with the inlet off as it would have been easier. might just remove the pipes off the pas rack and leave it like that for a bit.

Yer ino haha on my old vts I had one blow up on me on the way home once. My investigation found that the bare connections to the pump were showing and cuz it was wet and on a saxo the pump is down by the floor.....water+bare electrics =

that chip didnt get used. fitted a 8400 limiter thing instead. id not fancy the chances of a std h22 honda engine taking 9600 happily all day if at all.

i dont understnad these chips - what do they do? are they like phase chips?
and why you running 'chips' if you have a custome map :boogle:
surely the mapper will set a rev limit, at your chosen or max power rpm?

warren my friend. that ecu and stuff is for a friends prelude turbo. it doesnt run mappable ecu but will do at some point. for now its just to remove the 112mph speed limiter basically. nothing to do with my car at all.
