have you considered balancing your motors? I did this the other day the amount of vibro they generate on there own is quite suprising, literally my spare frame was vibrating across the table with just one motor running without a prop. After balanced it was dead still

Ever considered doing anything like this steve?

http://www.altitudehire.co.uk/

Their page caught my eye on facebook and the amount of requests for prints on facebook is very healthy.

Managed a 0.5km long shit this morning. Had to initiate a bit of wobble to induce the snap off. But got a clean break and safe landing with minimal splash back.

In this country you have to have a operators license which is issued by the CAA after you have carried out training and taken a test (which is costs a bomb) to perform commercial activities.

Technically there isn't.. BUT!

You are required to gain permission from the CAA before flying for commercial use in areas where there are other people (so most places) and you have to prove you are competent: At the moment the BNUC-S certificate is the only way to prove you are competent.

Plus if you are seeking public liability insurance they will also want proof you are competent.

We need a brick vs pellet gun competition to prove this.

From the people who drive around with cameras on cars and are building a car that can drive its self

I think they feel threatened by the tech

I get angry about these knee jerk reactions.

The example used in the article

"How would you feel if your neighbour went over and bought a commercial observation drone that they can launch from their backyard. It just flies over your house all day. How would you feel about it?"

There are already laws to cover this pertaining the use of cameras and privacy, there doesn't need to be any new laws

Finally got round to doing some more work on the Quad

First up I made up my custom GPS mast, that lowers it a tad and makes is sit central on the Quad, apparently it works best when in a central position, who knows but the mast looks a funky colour anyway.

To do this I ordered some 4mm OD, acrylic rod, then I cut a bit off to practice bending it, I used a heat gun to heat it up then it became easily bendable. Heres the original piece next to a piece id practiced bending on

Then fitted on the GPS unit and the new mast

Nice and central

Then altered all the values in the Naza assistant for the new location.

Once I had that made up I set about sorting the new motors out, firstly I had to chop the looms right down as they were very long, then soldered new bullet connectors on the ends, heres one next to an unmodified one

And next to the stock DJI motor

Then fitted the motors up to the Quad, and tested, some images showing the new motors on the Quad and the new gps mast in flight

These new motors already feel far smoother than the DJI ones in flight, I have not yet had chance to test properly as its raining outside.

New RF cable also arrived so I could reroute the wires on my radio hack and have the antenna sat on the top of the radio now, so can adjust it to better positions.
