The Cold Light of Day - 5.5/10

New York business man reluctantly meets his family in Spain for a holiday and shortly afterwards his dad is murdered. The rest of his family are kidnapped and he is pursued by a US agent and local gangsters wanting what ever information his dad had. Little bit silly and far fetched in places, at one point Henry Cavill receives a hell of a beating without gaining so much as a scratch and rips the door off a crashed car with his bare hands, which would be fine if he was in the cape and pants. Just left me wondering how much Bruce Willis got paid for being in the film for only 20 minutes, or Colm Meaneys 30 second cameo.

Not sure what to say about this. It is supposed to be a horror film but felt more like a road movie. It started off with a group of friends driving across country and one has to temporarily leave after receiving a phone call, she tells the others she has to go back to school to re sit an exam and will catch up with them. The rest of them and the girls cousin, Alicia arrive at a house where one of the lads (Michael Cera) starts to taunt Alicia, nothing too nasty but there is a creepiness about him. Alicia gets more and more paranoid, alone and starts acting strangely.

It was a bit strange seeing Michael Cera not playing his usual geeky, shy underdog and I have to say I didn't like his sadistic character. He played it quite convincingly.

Jumo Temple is awesome.

Dracula Untold - 8/10 Loved it from start to finish, especially with the way it's shot and portrayed as an origin film

Gone Girl - 5/10 Great thriller that dragged on a bit too much with an ending that only Americans could love
