Thanks for the comment amount my XE STEvieXE. Shame it was so dirty in those photos!!
Nice to hear some history about the engine too from Rick Draper. Sounds like you gave it a hard time lol. Im sure your pleased to know that after the £2k rebuild it is back in prime condition.
More photos will be given to Neil at work wednesday for him to post.

Think i built it about 8 years ago or something like that iirc.
It did indeed, 2.1 Old Skool Omega's (not intruders) which are no longer made according to SBD. And yes it had 100's of receipts with it.
It is a great little engine! And now its been rebuilt to a good spec it should give James (corsa owners) some fun.... if he learns how to use his right foot more

UPDATE:
6th Feb 2008
First off the front wheel arch was glued into position as it kept falling off
The steelies are only on due to the Speedlines currently receiving new rubber
Its first round of Petrol and not Diesel
We were going to fit the Fuel filter at the back (The Diesel didn't have one at the rear) but thought better off it due to the pipework and fitted it in the engine bay
Random Underside pic
On with the induction
Then the brake servo hose was connected and the final electrical checks before we turned the key.......
and.....
It wouldn't start
It was getting fuel but no spark. After a bit of wire chasing
We put the problem down to the ECU not earthing correctly on the injection side of things. But by now we had run out of time so went home.
We shall continue where we left off Thursday.
Until then, two more pics

i think some people are missing the point with the van, its being done on the cheap (relatively), not meant to look anything special, but made to have fun in. No matter what it will suprise a few people and will be a good laugh!!!

There customers cars at SMMC (Southam Mini & Metro centre) the Red one in the first pic is a very famous rally car and still gets rallied to this day in the Monto Carlo rally amongst others. Its insured for a cool 120k!!! )

Nice one Ben - Glad to see uve finally had some luck
I know what people mean about the intercooler and its not to everyones taste. But tell you what, until you see the car in the flesh you dont realise how awesomly aggresive it looks.
Neil, I think its a general feeling now that we need to see yours on the road too!
Everyone will agree that we are expecting to see both of these at PVS!

13th Feb 2008
Got some work done on mine tonight at last!
First off I dusted her down with a errrr....duster. lol, still looks pink in the pics though
And started getting rid of bits I don't need.
Does anyone want these? Mint condition and electric
Time to take some weight out of the drivers door and remove the glass
Then I tried to remove the boot glass on my own...... Doh! Should of waited for help
Theres a good chance this bootlid (minus smashed glass lol) will be forsale soon, make me an offer if you want it (mint condition)
And thats where I got to last night.... oh apart from fitting my new car cover
And this arrived today for Ben's Van

Nice updates mate, the weight saving is coming on a treat!
The only thing that bothers me with stripping a car down that much is selling it on, what do you do about that when you want to sell it? Just sell it as you've finished it and hope a buyer comes along?
Nice bonnet, where from and how much?
Love this thread
